It is that time of the year when the designers working furiously to get their designs for the coming season out to the public. Every year they start introducing their designs to the retailers starting in July. At this time they will get their feed backs, mainly from purchase commitments, and finalize their collection. Then they go into production of the products, the catalogs, other media events, etc. They are ready to put it out to the public by the end of November.
This year is no exception. Soon you will be getting mail outs, e-mails and other advertisements to get these items in front of you. What can you expect in the near future? You will be getting mail outs, mini brochures from the retailers in your area, from the manufacturers directly, generally in conjunction with the area retailers, from the prom associations, and magazines such as "Your Prom," "Seventeen Prom," "Pageantry," etc., portraying the new designs.
Stores get their product in about January. But, this year, many stores have already many of their stocks in. Designers such as Kiss Kiss Prom, Jovani Prom, etc., already sent their stock orders out. Others have started to trickle in. On the other hand, some are not ready yet. None of the stores I called, have LaFemme or Sheri Hill or GiGi.
On line stores also get their site ready with images of the new products at about December. Most of the major ones are starting to do that now. Some of them indicated to us that it will be end of December or beginning of January when they will have bulk of thier site updated. Then there are others such as www.promgowns4less.com who got a jump start. They have lot of the images already done by the end of September. From the look of what I saw in www.promgowns4less.com and peaches, http://www.promgowns4less.com/ we are in for an amazing collection yet once again this year.
Please keep tuned in for my next blogg in which I will give you the scoop about the trends we saw and how to get the
list of our pick for the top 100 gowns for Prom 2010.
Till then happy reading. Have a great holidy.
